Finding Nemo!

Does anyone thing I am too young to be watching Finding Nemo?

Michaela goes Swimming!

So we took the baby swimming for the first time this weekend! She loved it! She stayed in for about 2 hours and when she started to fall asleep in the water we figured it was time to call it a day.

Michaela Visits Grandma Kresge!

So I let Michaela stay ALONE at grandma's house this weekend. I thought it would be great, she would get to visit grandpa at school, Uncle Richie on campus and play with Grandma on the beach - sounds great right?! Well, Michaela did get to do all those things, and she had a WONDERFUL time - it was her mommy who was a train wreck the whole 48 hours she was gone! I felt empty without my little buddy to keep me on track all day! It was a lot easier to do dishes and brush my teeth with two hands though........ Anyway she (and I) made it through the first weekend without eachother!
We did have a great time picking her up though. Devin and Savannah came down so we all made foil dinners in a bonfire that my dad made on the beach. We stayed up way too late playing card games and on Sunday we doubled the size of the branch and took up two rows! They love when we visit our parents! Below are some pictures of the weekend......

Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! We celebrated on Saturday so I already have a recap for you! I am so lucky to have my little baby girl, I love her more than I knew I could. Jordan too, he is so wonderful, I couldn't have dreamed for a better man to be my husband! He made the day extra special, starting out with Breakfast at Denny's (my favorite). Then we went to take some family pictures and of course Michaela screamed the whole time! I will post those later, not sure if we got any good ones though........ The best part of the day though was when we went to the Zoo. Jordan and I had a blast hanging out with each other while Michaela slept the ENTIRE time we were there! Oh well, it's not like she really cared anyway. It was just fun to be together as a family. We ended our day together with dinner and then he sent me to buy my favorite thing: Clothes for Baby! I even stayed within my budget.... Anyway that is us Fife's this week, I will put up our family pictures and Michaela's three month pictures in a few weeks. We love and miss you all!

Dad's work, 5 de Mayo and Beef Jerkey

Since I only work one mile from home I usually spend my lunch breaks with Samantha and Michaela. Michaela is almost always sleeping when I come home but yesterday she was wide awake and so excited to see me! Imagine a baby who is riding a bicycle while clapping her hands while on her back and that's our excited little baby. Anyone who has to commute to work, I suggest moving near work so you can come home on your lunch breaks and watch your baby try to ride a bicycle.

We had the missionaries over for dinner last night to celebrate two holidays; 5 de Mayo and my little brother Austin's birthday (May 6th). Austin is in Peru on his mission now so everyone keep him in your prayers and send him some beef jerkey.

I think beef jerkey was the best gift I ever received on my mission. We bought some horse jerkey once but it just wasn't the same. The only problem with jerkey is there isn't much of it in the bag. I'll usually eat 2 or 3 pieces then fall into a deep irreversible depression once I run out. The only remedy is more jerkey. That's why if you ever buy some, make sure you buy 2 bags so you're not ever stuck with one empty bag and a lonely heart. On my 20th birthday in Punta Arenas my mom sent me 2 large bags of beef jerkey and I'm pretty sure it was the best day of my life. I ate half of the first bag "al tiro" (right away) but saved the rest for a slow and delightful winter. If you eat beef jerkey gradually you won't experience the "I can't believe I already ran out" feeling. There are few things more dissappointing in life than running out your favorite flavor of Oberto's. Below is a link to buy some jerkey and Austin's address so you can send him some if you so desire :

Samantha just nudged me to stop 'rambling' about jerkey and talk about my trip to Asia. I'm not sure what details of the trip would be most interesting to anyone else but I'll hit some of the main points.

We flew into Hong Kong Sunday night and saw the tourist spots of Hong Kong on Monday including the peak which is where this picture was taken. You have to take an almost vertical tram to the top and once you get up there the view is awesome! Tuesday was filled with meetings at Expeditors and that was actually pretty exciting for me but I'll skip those details to avoid driving loved ones away from this website and sending them to more "interesting" websites like StevesAntFarm.com or to my personal favorite http://www.neildiamond.com/.

I should mention there is a "suit guy" who came to Expeditors last year to make tailor made suits for anyone interested so I bought one from him and it was great. I decided to go find his office in Kowloon and buy another one (it was cheaper since he didn't have to mail it to me). If any one wants a suit, he will be in Seattle again in August and he does a great job.

Anyway, my last day in Hong Kong I made time to go to the Hong Kong temple right before catching a plane to Shanghai. The next morning we had more meetings with the Expeditors Shanghai team followed by a tour of the Expeditors consolidation center near the port (also very exciting for me but boring for most readers since it's basically just a big warehouse)

That night we flew to Qingdao in the north where the sailing events will be held for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Meetings with the Expeditors Qingdao team were followed by an interesting tour of a textile factory outside of town.

To wrap up this incredibly boring recap, we flew back to Seattle exactly one week after the journey began. There was no jerkey in China but there were a lot of guys selling watches and a lot of bicycles.

Pretty Girl

Hot off the press! Here are the two-month pictures. Gotta love Penny's!

Not really a lot to post, I just wanted to share the pictures. Michaela is doing well, she moved to her crib in another room and she is fine, it's mommy who is losing sleep over the move.... With a new cousin here, and another on the way, there is sure to be more news in a few days, weeks, and months! Stay tuned!
