Heartwarming

Okay, so I have the coolest inlaws. I know I plug their Business all the time, but seriously, doesn't this picture just make you want to a)hug Michaela and cry because she is so beautiful and fun and then b) call them and ask them to take your kids' pictures??

PS: Wasn't this cabin delicious?

Jordan's Update

Hello, this is Jordan and I have only contributed once before to this blog; please forgive the intrusion. Here's a little update. I'm on winter break until mid-January. This week I have off and my friend Joseph Killian is coming to record some songs (we are hoping to become the next N'Sync....please check out iTunes in the next couple months). My sister Shawnie is staying with us until next week. Tuesday the girls are ditching me to go to Seattle. The following week I'll be in Des Moines for a winter break class. I have two job offers that I have to decide on by the end of January so we should have some potentially exciting news up here in the coming weeks. My last semester of school starts in a few weeks and ends on May 14th then I'll be done with school forever. It's a bitter sweet feeling. All is well in Zion, yea, Zion prospereth.

Christmas in Nauvoo

Our family had the incredible opportunity to spend Christmas in Nauvoo Illinois this year. Each of Jordan's siblings, and their spouses and kids and his parents were able to come too! We had such a wonderful time, and the only drama was that I lit the oven on fire! It wouldn't be a family gathering without some sort of upset right?! Here is a little picture tease, I have a few on my camera, but when I am with Dustin and Amber. I tend to take less pictures, because I love the ones they take! Anyway, here are a few Amber emailed me before we all went our seperate ways on Saturday.

Michaela and Corban loved eachother! She was a little intimidated by his loudness, and all together boyishness, but they had a blast.

An official family picture!
Mommy and Michaela reading the scripture story on Christmas Eve
Michaela posing with her artwork. I had these stickers of the nativity and each time Grandpa mentioned something, we put the sticker on the paper. Notice how well organized Michaela's paper is - I promise I didn't help much either!

Christmas Morning! We took a little bit of Kresge with us, leaving this present from my parents for her to open there...instant hit and she is still wearing the outfits!
We got Corban this lightening McQueen sleeping bag. He LOVED it! They snuggled for a few minutes before bedtime.

Yes, she said it again.....

Mommy: (Singing) Away in a Manger, no ........
Michaela: (Inturrupts) Wait mom, don't sing till I get my shoes...
Mommy: Why do you need shoes?
Michaela: Cause I gotta run away if your singing is going to be bad again

Mommy: Michaela, are you done? (going potty)
Michaela: Not yet, I'm still lookin!
Mommy:..........Looking?
Michaela: Ya, at my poops, it's big this time, like the whale that ate Jonah.

Michaela: Mommy, who is this present for?
Mommy: that one is for you (repeat like six times)
Michaela: But how come there aren't any for Jesus? Won't he be sad at his birthday party with all the presents for me? Can we go to target really fast for him?

A Santa Clause Pattern!

Christmas 2007

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2009

I wonder what 2010 will bring us? Perhaps a calm Michaela and a terrified Heidi!!!

Speaking of Heidi, here she is at our ward Christmas Party! My intention was to have us all color coordinated and looking adorable so that we could get a wonderful picture for our Christmas cards...... no such luck! Instead, there are a few of each girl that are worth sharing, starting with this one!

Let it snow!

*disclaimer* Michaela has a wonderful, warm, heavy winter coat....that was in the car Jordan drove to school, thus the multiple sweatshirts and jacket

It's been a while!

I now feel bad for being impatient with people with more than one kid for not putting pictures on their blog the instant they take them! There is so much to catch up on, and I do have pictures, but for now, I am going to be satified with Thanksgiving pictures, and a shower!!!

Here is our first, (yes seriously!) ever family of four picture. Can you believe that it took more than a month to get around to doing it??? Despite the fact that neither girl looks happy to be there, we are all happy to be with eachother, and Thankful we are blessed with eternity as a family :)

This year, we celebrated with our best friends ever, The Culley's and other wonderful friends from Jordan's program. For some, this was their first Thanksgiving experience! (too bad some of it was my cooking huh??) Michaela was infatuated with all the boys and had them eating out of her hands all night!
Here is my little chubbs, Heidi! At 5 1/2 weeks she is sleeping pretty much all night, and weighs 9.6 lbs!

Here are all the Ladies at our feast! Michelle is in the purple sweater, and she is who Heidi got her middle name from :)The boys!
Michaela melted John's heart one day when she said, "What up John?", (in the plain shirt) and now it's a game to also say, "What up Sebas? (short for Sebastian) These two are her buddies!
John and Michelle Culley

Phew! There you go mom, they are up, and now I am taking a shower! There will be more I hope by tomorrow of the girlies, as well as more from the mouth of Michaela!!!

I thought we might be out of the woods!

We got the Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana video from netflix the other day, and Michaela was an instant fan! She loves to sing and dance so it seemed like a good choice for her - and we were right! She hasn't ever seen any of the shows and we don't have anything of Hannah Montana, so I don't know if you can call us die hard fans, but she sure does love this song!

Ya- She really said that!

Mommy: Michaela- come eat your sandwich please!
Michaela: my don't need to mommy - my not hungry
Mommy: It's lunchtime - how can you not be hungry?
Michaela: Cause I just had some of my boogers from in my nose!

In our house - Stupid- is a naughty word, one that if used in the wrong place at the wrong time...warrants soap in the mouth. (Disclaimer - NEVER have I made Michaela eat a bar of soap - she gets a swipe from off my finger- barely enough to taste, but enough to remember)

Michaela: Mommy, you do what I say, make my doll dressed, she is stupid and my is mad at her!
Mommy: Michaela, talk nice to your toys and maybe it will be easier to play with them
Michaela: My not want to talk nice - she is stupid!
Mommy: Michaela, don't say that word
Michaela: STUPID!
Mommy: Do I need to get the soap or can you calm down?
Michaela: Oh, just go get the soap, My is too mad to calm down right now!

You asked for more.....

So here they are! We are finally getting the hang of things around here! (It might have 100% to do with the fact that my mom is here helping me sooooo much! - Can you say - "mommy don't leave me?!")

Check out that size difference!!!
Here is my attempt at making children's clothing...the hat and the embellishment on the onesie.
I had no idea how hard/adorable it would be to give both my girls a bath...at the same time! Makes for some great photo ops though!
Check out the eyes Heidi is giving grandma!
And Michaela running is one of my favorite sites! She has such wonderful form!
Raining leaves!

More from Michaela

Michaela: (Screams at a toy)
Mommy: Michaela instead of screaming, just say, "I'm frustrated"
Michaela: (after getting into a little trouble...) "Excue me mommy, but I am FRUSATATED!"

A few days ago Michaela littered...and I told her it made the Earth sad. Yesterday, I spilled her hard earned chocolate milk in the parking lot
Michaela: "Mommy! Now the Earth and Michaela are sad!"

While doing dishes together...
Mommy: Michaela I need you to listen to mommy and do things the first time ok?
Michaela: (pats me on the bum) Ok mommy, I will be better sweetie, ok? Now, may please can I be done?

My Girls

I love saying "my girls!"What a wonderful week we have had adjusting to having Heidi at our house :) We missed our ward Halloween Party, so I dressed them up yesterday for Picture's sake. We waited for Heidi to be here, because, what is Cinderella without her pumpkin?!

Who knew pumpkins could get this mad?!

And here I am pretending to be a photographer. My inlaws are wonderful photographers, and since we have the same last name - I keep hoping the skills transfer somehow!!
This is Heidi's special blanket. One of her great grandma's made it for her and it will always be her treasure!

And what is a blog post without a whole lotta Michaela?! Don't worry, she is still providing numerous picture opportunity's and I am doing my best to keep up with them. Today, she went potty by herself, and came out and said, "How do I look? I look Bootiful right mom?!" Ya, that is my cover-up......!

My two favorite heads!

Six days old and so strong already!
