I feel like I am playing catch up! For some reason I have fallen behind on even taking pictures let alone posting them! So here are a few, well, a lot, with some descriptions. And don't worry - there are more MichaelaISMS on the way!



Michaela is very into dressing herself lately. I am NOT ALLOWED to help. Here she is at her little ladybug mirror - at her level- doing her hair. She then asked me for " please have some makesup please mommy!"


Austin and Tikla came to visit us for a few days! It was such a nice visit. Well, I can only speak for Jordan and I but we had fun :) Usually Michaela is a little shy. But for whatever reason, she took to Austin right away, I have never seen her snuggle anyone but Jordan or I like this! And she is STILL TALKING about having her friend, "Tikelas" over to play!

I haven't posted many pictures lately, and have heard from the grandparents about it....so here you go! We had a fun day outside, and Michaela got to have a Happy Meal with her best friend Jackson. Enjoy!




(this one is adorable! Grandpa Fife sent her a motorcycle, and she put it in her other car WITH the seatbelt on so it was safer!!!.... that's my girl!)

Mommy sighs and lays on the couch
Michaela: "Oh, sweetie! Does your tummy hurt? Maybe you just need to POOP."

Mommy: "Michaela, lets try to go potty before we go shopping"
Michaela: "You try mom, I can just go in my pants and you can change em again."

Michaela: " Why is she fat mom?"
Mommy: "Cause there is a baby in her tummy."
Michaela: "How come dads fat then - him have baby?"

Mommy: "Michaela did you poop?"
Michaela: "No mom, that's just how my bum smells."

Michaela: (after being put in time out) "Mom! Jesus still loves me in time out - so you should too!" (she promtly got a hug and told that she was very loved)

Michaela: "If you put me in time out - daddy can put you in time out!"

This is Ethan, our new nephew! He was born on Labor Day! Yay for new babies in the family :)

~Messing Around ~

Jordan's schedule is a little different this semester, he goes to class in the evenings. It's actually been wonderful to have him at home during the day and then Michaela and I hang out in the evening and he doesn't have to miss as much! But, it does give us a little less structure for the night time routine ;) For example tonight while she was brushing her teeth, I was combing her hair and realized how long it actually is! It's always in those supercute, tight ringlets that we all love, but it's really hard to tell how long it actually is.....Anyway, that thought led me to attempt to blow dry it straight....which led me to get out the flat iron, and the gel.....and the comb to tease it a little bit......I know, LAME, but SO FUN! Anyway, here are a few pictures for you :)

Wow, it's been a few days....usually I am good for at least two posts a week :) Sorry grandparents....

First thing I wanted to share is that Jordan is done with his internship!!! He did such a wonderful job and it's so nice to all be together again. Well, it was for the three days he was home before he headed off to west coast interviews anyway. But, it will be nice when all the traveling is done! We missed our Daddy! I, especially, missed hanging out with me best friend every night. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with dishes, laundry, Michaela and normal house stuff, and forget to appreciate all the things Jordan really does, but this summer made me realize how much of a team we really are and how independent I really don't want to be! I had a blast hanging out with some wonderful friends while he was away, but I am ready for real life to start again! Welcome home roomie :)

Speaking of the three days Jordan was home.....I took advantage of the two parent thing and went to the grocery store by myself, what a difference! I was done in 30 minutes! With my extra time I wandered around Hobby Lobby thinking it might be nice to shop without little hands touching everything! Anyway, I was so lonely! I missed my little buddy asking me a thousand time what this was or can she have this, or she NEEDS this....the car ride was different because the itsy bitsy spider wasn't playing over and over again....So long story short, I love my crazy, hectic, sometimes boring, always messy, life! I am grateful to be a part of Michaela's life and I have a renewed sense of how much I love her. (not that I ever forgot, I just didn't expect to miss her in an hours time...) I will try extra hard to deserve to be her mommy :)

I stepped in something tonight, and let Michaela explain what it was......
Mommy: Bug, what is this?
Michaela: oh that's just my dinner, it hurt my tongue mom. it hurt it cause it was too gross
Mommy: Michaela, where is the rest of your dinner then?
Michaela: All my bites were yucky, so I put em around
Mommy: Around where?
Michaela: I pit em out when they were gross mom
..... so I am still finding CHEWED bites of gross dinner throughout my living room!!


Mommy: (on the way to church) Ugh. It's an ugly day for me!
Michaela: You don't say that mommy! You a princess. You are pretty!

These are NOT happy Tears Mom!

Michaela: Mommy, you sad?
Mommy: No honey, these are happy tears.....(some random commercial....)
Later that day
Mommy: Michaela go to time out!
Michaela: Okay! But mommy, these are not my happy tears!

Michaela: I fine! Taking a bath! And don't help me!

Michaela: Mommy, I need change my own diaper cause these are my buns!

Line upon Line.

Michaela and I have been working really hard on our night time prayers. I try to have them with her each night, a custom I hope continues through out her life. Anyway, below is a conversation we had recently.

Mommy: Okay Michaela, you can ask Heavenly Father for anything you need.
Michaela: Dear Heaf Fader, I need go park, i need frite(sprite), I need stay up, I need ice cream, In name, Jesus Christ, Aaaaaaaaaamen!
Mommy: Goodnight!

The next day at dinner.....I dished Michaela some ice cream for dessert, and she stared up at me with her Huge Brown eyes with wonderment and exclaimed... "MOM! Heaf Fader dooded it!"





It's so amazing to me how Heavenly Father teaches us, truly line upon line. I guess sometimes it takes a two year old recieving ice cream after a prayer for us to stop and think about it. The Gospel is basic, but complete. Heavenly Father loves us, and he wants us to be happy.. I am so grateful that my two year old is gaining her own sweet testimony, but mostly, I am grateful that she is teaching me.

We're baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

So many pictures, so many descriptions....so little sleep! If we hang out, you will hear all about the month long trip across the country. If we don't, here are some pictures to enjoy anyway with a few details!
1. 5 weeks in the car with one toddler for at least 9 hours a day = NO TEARS!....NOT ONE! I am so spoiled by Michaelas wonderful behavior.
2. Have not seen Jordan for about 30 days. Can't wait for tomorrow ;)
3. We got to see everyone we were related to in one month! And I was lucky enough to be blessed with a new sister in law! Now, two new babies on the way, one nephew and one neice :)
4. We drove for about 19 hours yesterday and got home around 5 this morning...making this my last detail for now. NAP TIME!
